The Parish Staff

Pastor

Our pastor, Reverend Henry P. Cody, is a native of New Haven, CT. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in West Haven; St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield; and St. Bernard Seminary in Rochester, NY. From 1955 to 1959 he was in Rome, living at the North American College and studying theology at the Gregorian University from which he received a licentiate in Sacred Theology (STL).

Ordained in Rome in 1958, he served as parochial vicar at St. Francis in Naugatuck; St. James in Rocky Hill; St. John the Evangelist in West Hartford; and St. Ann in Avon. Prior to coming to St. Timothy Church, he served as parochial vicar and then as co-pastor of St. Thomas in Thomaston.

Fr. Cody attended the University of Connecticut School of Law from which he received his J.D. in 1979. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar. He has worked as a reporter for The Springfield Union and an editorial writer and columnist for The Bridgeport Post and Telegram. From 1981 to 1992, he was the chairman of the editorial board of The Catholic Transcript.

Deacon

Deacon Anthony Nwankwo came to St. Timothy in June 2001 following his ordination. His home parish is Sacred Heart in Bloomfield, CT. Originally from Nigeria, he came to the U.S. over 25 years ago and works full time at the Office of the State Treasurer. Deacon Nwankwo holds a BS in Economics and an MBA. He is married to Grace and his two children are Uju and Tobechukwu. Deacon Nwankwo is responsible for the Baptismal programs and participates in the liturgy and preaches Sunday sermons.

Pastoral Associate

Patricia Ann Piano, our Pastoral Associate, has served the parish of St. Timothy since September 2002. Her ministry is wide in its scope and includes the development and support of many of the areas of parish life. She is the coordinator of all the liturgical ministries, works with the Pastoral Care Team, Adult Education Committee, and the Parish Nurse. She offers a lectionary scripture study each Monday morning in the music room of St. Timothy School (all welcome) as well as spiritual direction by appointment. She worked as Director of Faith Formation at St. Ann Parish in Avon, CT for 14 years before coming to St. Timothy. She is married to Dan Piano and has five grown children and seven grandchildren.

Parish Secretary/Business Manager

Pat Pruitt, our Parish Secretary/Business Manager, is a native of Staten Island, NY. She has supported Fr. Cody, our weekend assistants, and deacons since 1991. Pat is responsible for scheduling Mass intentions, baptisms, marriages, and funerals. She also schedules all functions and meetings that occur in the rectory, church, and school facilities. All notifications are sent to Pat each week for inclusion in our weekend bulletin. She also does all bookkeeping, as well as census and website updates. She is married to her husband of 36 years, Bill, with whom she has two grown children, Jennifer and Billy.

Her daughter Jennifer graduated Boston College and is presently employed at SkillSoft in Nashua, New Hampshire. She recently received her MBA at UMASS, Amherst. Her son Billy is a graduate of University of Hartford and a recent graduate of Syracuse University College of Law. He is an admitted attorney in the states of New York and Massachusetts, and is currently pursuing his doctorate at Northeastern University in Boston.
